Island resident Anne Barker, who has been racing in regattas around the country for several years herself, was on hand to show off her dad, Greg Barker's championship hydroplane, "Rewinder," winner of the Nationals and North American Championship in 2003. Anne is shown with John Bidell, who attends Connor Middle School on the Island. Anne's father built the 1/4 midget race car in 1958 with the help of her grandfather, Ralph Barker, and raced it for several seasons.

(left) The "Edward M. Cotter" fireboat, built over 100 years ago and capable of pumping 15,000 gallons of water per minute, is shown with all water nozzles in operation at Saturday's boat show. On the right is a hydroplane racing past the BLC and raising a good rooster tail.
