DeGlopper Memorial Post, American Legion NY Post 1346 and Grand Island High School Wind Ensemble will honor the men and women who made the supreme sacrifice for our country while in military service. They are remembered each and every day and will be honored on Memorial Day.
Veterans, family members and the community are cordially invited to attend the program on Monday, May 27, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Charles N. DeGlopper Memorial Park. There will be a reception following the ceremony at VFW Post 9249 Charles N. DeGlopper Memorial Post located at 2121 Grand Island Boulevard.

The Cinderella Isle Garden Club will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, May 16, at the Grand Island Memorial Library, 1715 Bedell Road. Begin at 5:30 by planting annuals in the beds at the library to beautify the space. Please bring garden gloves and tools. Following the planting, meet inside the library in the conference room for a short meeting, a snack and a plant exchange. This will begin at 6:30.
Gram's Garage Sale at the Golden Age Center is on Saturday, May 18th from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. There will be member garage sale tables, bake sale and lunch sale.

On Monday, May 6th, the Town Board is planning to schedule a vote on Local Law #6 of 2023. This law would change our current M1/M2 zoning law to limit the total size of all buildings on a “business campus” to 150,000 square feet and would remove distribution center as a permitted use. If you agree with this law, show your support by signing a petition HERE. You can also show your support by attending the Town Board meeting at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 6th.

The Buffalo News reported that deep-discount grocery store Aldi has property under contract to open its first store on Grand Island on the site of a former visitor information center at 1661 Grand Island Boulevard. The existing building will be torn down and rebuilt, and the store will likely open this summer.

The Cinderella Isle Garden Club will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, May 16, at the Grand Island Memorial Library, 1715 Bedell Road. On Monday, May 6th, the Town Board is planning to schedule a vote on Local Law #6 of 2023. This law would change our current M1/M2 zoning law to limit the total size of all buildings on a “business campus” to 150,000 square feet and would remove distribution center as a permitted use. If you agree with this law, show your support by signing a petition HERE. You can also show your support by attending the Town Board meeting at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 6th.

The Buffalo News reported that deep-discount grocery store Aldi has property under contract to open its first store on Grand Island on the site of a former visitor information center at 1661 Grand Island Boulevard. The existing building will be torn down and rebuilt, and the store will likely open this summer.
