Pinnacle Island 2022 Golf Tourney - November 2022

GI Neighbors Foundation.

Pinnacle Travel hosted its Pinnacle Island 2022 Golf Tourney benefit on Aug. 13, 2022 at Beaver Island Golf Course on Grand Island. A fundraiser to assist the Neighbors Foundation of Grand Island and other local groups, the golf outing saw 156 golfers form 38 teams participating. Additional Island benefactors from the event included the Grand Island Fire Co., Grand Island Police Department and Charles N. DeGlopper VFW Post 9249. “Half of our proceeds will be donated to the Neighbors Foundation of Grand Island. And rest will be divided between the other organizations,” said Pinnacle Travel rep Rick Schmitz. “Pinnacle Travel Staffing is a family owned company with family values. Instead of giving money to a large corporation, we would rather give back to Grand Island. As an Island company, we will always support our boys in blue, our volunteers at the GIFC, and all of the men and woman that served our great country with the VFW Post.” He noted the event that also saw corporate sponsorship by Fuccillo Automotive Group, Laurendi Howard Hanna and Say Cheese Pizza. “This tournament was the most organized/well-ran golf tournament/dinner people have been to,” Schmitz said, as he extended thanks to all who participated.

Anchor Marine Sold to Local Investment Group - September 2022

Buffalo, NY – September 8, 2022 – Grand Island’s Anchor Marine complex, located at 1501 Ferry Road, has been sold to Robert Mikulec through his Anchor Marine Group, LLC affiliate.
Anchor Marine has been a family-owned business and a mainstay of the boating community in Western New York for over 48 years. Situated on a prime waterfront location along the Niagara River and adjacent to the Buffalo Launch Club, the site encompasses 27.7 acres, including 11 buildings and over 100 boat slips.
In addition to slips and seasonal storage, Anchor Marine sells new and pre-owned inventory as an authorized Bayliner, Harris, Honda, Lund, Mercury Marine®, Monterey, Wellcraft, and Sea-Doo dealership. Per Mikulec’s comments to Buffalo Business First, his investment group will utilize ideas from other marinas to renovate and upgrade Anchor Marina to make it a destination on the Niagara River.
The sale closed on September 1st under undisclosed terms and included the entities of both the business (RW Weaver Corporation) and real estate holding company (CMW Holdings, LLC). Nicholas Corto of HUNT Commercial Real Estate in Buffalo brokered the real estate side of the deal.
“This was a challenging and ultimately rewarding deal for all involved that required significant experience, analytical ability, and commercial knowledge,” commented Robert McDonnell, Chief Operating Officer of HUNT Commercial. “We are fortunate to have Nick Corto and his talent for navigating the complexities of this business, and this type of transaction, as one of our seasoned sales professionals representing HUNT.” Corto is also a residential real estate agent with HUNT Real Estate out of the Buffalo Metropolitan branch.
