Buffalo Man Arrested In Chimney Of Island Home - 2005
Erie County Sheriff's Deputies arrested a Buffalo man at 4 a.m. February 8, 2005 after he was found hiding inside the chimney at this girlfriend's Alan Court home.
Earlier in the evening, Deputies Jordan Grabar and Daniel Walczak had arrested Felix A. Medina, 26, of Carolina Street, Buffalo after he threatened his girlfriend in the presence of her child while in the Grand Island home. Medina was charged with harassment and endangering the welfare of a child, and was held at the Erie County Holding Center. Bail was set at $500.
Several hours later, after Medina had posted bail, his girlfriend had heard his voice in the home and reported the incident to the sheriff's station on Grand Island. The deputies responded to the home and located Medina inside the chimney. He had entered the chimney from the fireplace and had climbed completely inside to avoid apprehension. Deputies also determined that Medina had made threats to two children at the home on this occasion.
Medina was charged with criminal trespass, resisting arrest, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and is incarcerated without bail at the Erie County Holding Center. Child Protective services were notified of both incidents.
