Thai Spicy Peanut BBQ Skewers



1 1/2 to 2 pounds of lean beef steak (sirloin is good)
1/2 light soy sauce
1/3 cup crunchy peanut butter
1/4 vegetable oil
1 TBS. Habanera Pepper sauce (or to taste)
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. granulated garlic
1/2 cup warm water
12 bamboo skewers

1. Slice the beef into long thin strips, across the grain. Set aside. Dissolve brown sugar into warm water, then whisk into the peanut butter. Add the remaining ingredients and blend WELL. Divide the mixture into 3/4 and 1/4 portions. Marinate the strips of beef in the 3/4 of mixture, reserving the remaining 1/4 for dipping sauce later. Marinate overnight, or at least 6 hours for the best taste.
2. Skewer the strips, covering as much of the skewer as possible (this prevents the skewer from burning on the grill). Grill over high heat for about 5-7 minutes on each side. Serve with dipping sauce.
