Good Green Beans



1 pound fresh green beans, washed, trimmed
2 slices turkey bacon
1 medium onion, peeled, diced
2 cloves garlic, peeled, minced
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1. Fill medium saucepan with 2 inches of water and set to boil. Add beans and cook 3-4 minutes, or just until crisp tender. Drain; set aside.
2. In nonstick skillet, cook bacon over medium-hi heat until crisp. Remove bacon from pan and drain well on paper towels, reserving 1 tablespoon drippings in skillet.
3. Add onion and garlic to skillet and cook for 3 minutes, stirring often. Add thyme and pepper and stir. Add beans and crumbled bacon and cook 1-2 minutes, stirring, until heated. Serve immediately.
