Tundra Swans mark the arrival of winter on the Niagara River. These birds can often be observed in the Niagara River just offshore of Beaver Island Park. It is one of the smallest of the swans in North America. Identifying this species of swan is quite easy. Just look for the yellow patch at the base of the bill below the eye. This photo was taken at the end of December 2015.
