Island Wrestlers Named to NFL Teams
Lee Schuster, a senior at Grand Island High School, has been named to the Niagara Frontier League’s first team as voted on by the league’s coaches. Named to the second team from Grand Island are Ryan Harnden, T.J. Acker and Anthony Genova. Eric Weigold, Tygue Busch and Andy LaLonde were named to the third team.

The 38th annual New York State High School Powerlifting Championships were held at Sweet Home High School this past weekend. Grand Island had a solid showing with Robert Vanthoff (530) and Anthony Verdi (515) finishing fourth and fifth at 126, Brett Dlugosz (1,110) taking fourth at 200 and Anthony Guenther (1,020) coming in third at 220.
