Ideas: The many veterans living on Grand Island are a great untapped source of community involvement. They should be encouraged to help the various programs in the town.

The American Legion, Grand Island Post 1346 held its annual Christmas Party at the meeting hall of The Loyal Order of The Moose Lodge #180. Members and guests enjoyed an evening of cordial company and a delicious catered meal. Old friends met and new friends were made. Due to the weather some members were not present and we hope to see them at the next meeting on December 29, 2010. Important discussions on future events for the coming year will be held. All members are urged to attend. Your input is important.

The Grand Island American Legion Post # 1346 will hold its Annual Christmas Holiday Party at 6 p.m. December 15th at the Loyal Order Of the Moose Hall, 2524 Grand Island Blvd. Grand Island NY. Members of the American Legion, Grand Island Post #1346, in their celebration of Veterans Day, November 11, 2010, are encouraging veterans of all wars to join the American Legion. All eligible veterans are urged to join and help serve the needy veterans and the community. Post meetings are held on the last Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #180, 2524 Grand Island Blvd. Grand Island, NY. Scholarships were presented by the Grand Island American Legion Post 1346 Commander Al Prame on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the Moose Hall. 2010 recipients are Michael Scott Stallard and Krystin Hoppel. Michael is the son of Scott and Phyllis Stallard. He will be attending Niagara County Community College, majoring in business management. Krystin, daughter of Keith and Kathy Hoppel, will be attending Niagara County Community College with animal management as her major.

Members of the Grand Island American Legion Post 1346 will sell the remaining Hanging Basket Plants at the VFW Post, 2121 Grand Island Blvd, Saturday, May 15, 2010. The Mothers Day sale was interrupted due to high winds and rain. The members of the American Legion thank everyone who bought plants and supported the Veterans of the American Legion. Funds are used to aid Veterans and Community projects.
