Lawn Mower Race - GILL Fundraiser -October 2015

A Grand Island Little League Fundraiser will be held on Saturday October 24th, when G.I.L.L. will host Series #3 of the 2015 Lawn Mower racing series at Veterans Park. Testing for mowers will begin at 2:30 p.m., with racing begining around 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Previous racers and newcomers are encouraged to come on out. No pr-registration is required, just show up the day of races to register. Fee is $10 per mower.
Along with racing, there will be hamburgers/hot dogs, refreshments (provided by Miracle League), and pizza by Pizza Amore. This is a rain or shine event, so please come out and support the series and GI Little League. There will also be 50/50, local entertainment and a chance to get your flu shots provided by Rite Aid. Kids will have a chance to get inside the new batting cages for some live batting practice.

GILL Batting Cage Golf Tournament & Basket Raffle - April 2015

For the past few years, Grand Island Little League has strived to keep up with neighboring leagues as far as level of play, hosting all-star tournaments, and the up keep of our beautiful Park. The Town of Grand Island has agreed to allow GILL to construct batting cages at Veterans Memorial Park. The cages will be owned by GILL and will be used by all GILL players with the supervision of coaches. The cost of the batting cages has been set at $18,000.00 and will be completed this year. In order to offset the high cost of construction, GILL will host a golf tournament and basket raffle on Sunday June 14th, 2015.
Not only will the construction of the batting cages enhance Vet Park, it will also elevate the level of house baseball and offer GILL the opportunity to host more little League Tournaments and increase the overall revenue of the league. The GILL Golf Tournament will be held at Deerwood Golf Course with tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m., followed by a family BBQ and basket raffle at the V.F.W. on Grand Island beginning at 3:00 p.m. Golfers have the ability to bring their families to the V.F.W. after golf for a Grand Island Little League BBQ that includes hot dogs, hamburgers, grilled chicken, corn, and salads. Don't Golf? Bring the family to the Raffle/BBQ. There will be entertainment for the kids and fun for the entire family. Our goal to raise $4,000.00 to help the construction costs and prevent GILL to use money put aside for future capital improvements.
Feel free to sign up as a foursome, threesome, twosome, or solo. The tournament play will be best ball with prizes for longest drive and closest to the pin. Golfers must be registered and paid by June 1st. We want to encourage families to donate a basket/gift certificate or anything that can be auctioned off at our basket raffle. See Flyer
