March 21            THIRD WEDNESDAY: [Spring Begins] Nan Hoffman leads “Songs of the Spirit:  Sing into                  Spring!”  Singing together can help to heal our hearts, melt away winter’s sorrows, and find                  new hope for growth and rebirth. Come and sing chants and songs from different spiritual                                   traditions, gospel and hymns, songs of peace, healing and celebration!

 

March 25            Ruth Meyerowitz, "Gender Equity: Are US Women Becoming More or Less Equal in the                             21st Century World?"  Ruth, an Associate Professor of American Studies at UB, and some of                 her students will talk to us about their research and findings.

April 4             FIRST WEDNESDAY:  Musical Missions of Peace (DVD) – Singing             in Iraq

 

April 8             EASTER Celebrations, Labyrinth Meditations

 

April 15            Diana Aga, “Gender-benders and Free Drugs in the Environment.”  After receiving her                         Ph.D. in Environmental and Analytical Chemistry in Kansas, Diana was a postdoctoral fellow               in Switzerland, a summer fellow in Germany, and taught at the University of Nebraska                            before joining the Chemistry Department at UB.  Her current research involves the fate and                       transport of antibiotics and endocrine-disrupting chemicals, including persistent organic                                    pollutants, in the environment.  She has been investigating the nature & quantities of                            pharmaceutical products in wastewater treatment plants.

 

April 18            THIRD WEDNESDAY:  “America’s Dialogue” (DVD) – providing place/space to talk about                    our nuclear future – join a national dialogue occurring this week.

 

April 22            Environmental Sabbath I (Earth Day):  Planting Trees  - We will plant trees and sing                                     Songs for a Livable Land with Nan Hoffman.  For information about time and place                    and more:  Rev. April 29            Environmental Sabbath II:  Re-chipping the woods path at the cottage.  Bring shovels and                              wheelbarrows if you have them; gloves good.  Potluck/food provided.
