GICSD Board of
Education Invites Alumni to Speak Out
The Grand
Island Central School District Board of Education would like to invite all
alumni from the graduating classes of 2007, 2008 and 2009 to attend an upcoming
linkage meeting for constructive conversation.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 from 6:30 p.m. to
8:00 p.m. in the Grand Island High School Senior Cafeteria and will allow alumni
the opportunity to share their thoughts on what the district is doing right and
what they feel can be done better. “The
more advice we receive from our own students who experienced the school system,
the more we, as a district, can improve,” states Grand Island High School
Principal Sandra Anzalone. “We
hope alumni recognize the importance of their voice and attend the upcoming
meeting to share their experiences.”
For the
first time last year, the Board of Education, Superintendent Robert Christmann
and alumni from the graduating classes of 2006 - 2008 met to discuss student
experiences at GIHS. The Board of
Education listened and as a result, following further study, many important
changes have been made within the District.
Some of the changes included:
Members of
the Board of Education found the opportunity to converse with alumni very
