Grand Island 60 - Hutch-Tech 58
Viking Ashton Duda made one of her two free throws with four seconds to go. Ashleigh Frieday led Grand Island with 23 points and made 8 of 15 shots and had 12 rebounds.

Grand Island 59, Pioneer 49
The fantastic win over Pioneer was Grand Island's first sectional title since 1985. Grand Island plays Olean for the overall Class A title at noon on Saturday, March 6 at ECC.

Section VI Tournament at Williamsville East
Grand Island lost to Williamsville East 71-53
Eric Hajnos led the scoring for Grand Island with 22 points

Boys Hockey Small School Sectional Playoffs
Grand Island 3, Southwestern/Maple Grove 3
The game was tied up when Joe Podlucky added a goal with 30 seconds remaining in the third period. Podlucky had two assists for GI. Also scoring for the Vikings were Jeff Bull and Mike Parisi.

Section VI Championship - Thruway Lanes
1. Southwestern 6188, 2. Frontier 6135, 3. Grand Island 6043
Class B Champions - Grand Island took 2nd place behind Southwestern.
Grand Island's Jon McGinn (1,375) will be representing Section VI at the State championships.

Class B Champions - Grand Island took 2nd place behind Tonawanda.

Section VI Boys Swimming Championships - Saturday, February 28, 2004 - at Niagara Falls
Grand Island diver, Ian O'Rourke, the favorite won the Section VI Swim Championship in diving.

Indoor Track State Championships - Saturday, March 6, 2004 - Syracuse Carrier Dome
Grand Island participants are Mike Feathers in the boys 55m hurdles and Long Jump and Kara Black in the girls 55m hurdles

Boys swimming - State Championships at Nassau County (L.I.) Aquatic Center
Friday, March 5 preliminaries - Saturday, March 6 finals
Grand Island participants are Robert Rumsey in the boys 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke and Ian O'Rourke in diving.
