Sterner defeated Johnson, 276-238, in the championship match to win the Western New York Queens Tournament's No. 1 division at Transit Lanes.

Sterner was also the top qualifier with a 984. Johnson qualified third with 958, then advanced to the title match in the stepladder finals with a 260-174 triumph over No. 2 qualifier Debra Owens Williamson. No. 4 qualifier Tammy White defeated Ruth Brock, 187-159, before losing to Johnson, 207-203.

Judy Langworthy, the top qualifier at 859, won Division 2 with a 182-152 win over Tonya Russo. Sandie Snyder won the Division 3 final, 190-129, over Chris Szydlowski. Snyder led the qualifying with 762.
