Re:                  2005 Supervisor’s Recommended Budget 

On September 15, 2004 I submitted the 2005 Budgets for Special Districts.  To summarize: 

Water 

            Total Appropriations                $2,544,842

            Proposed Tax Rate                   $6.28/M Land Value  (same as 2004)

            Water Rent                               $2.70/1000 gal  (increase 5 cents 2%) 

Wastewater 

            Total Appropriations                $2,471,032

            Tax Rate                               $3.74/M Land Value  (down 26% from $5.05 in 2004)

            Sewer Rent                               $4.20/1000 gal water – no change    

Lighting 

            Total Appropriations                 $180,809  (total 40 districts) 

Solid Waste 

            Total Appropriations                 $835,000 (estimated)

            Cost per Dwelling Unit          $126  (up 10.5% from $114 in 2004) 

Today, I am submitting the following Budgets: 

Debt Service 

            Total Appropriations                 $1,124,835 

Fire Protection 

            Total Appropriations                 $773,749  (Vs  $714,835 in 2004)  

            Tax Rate                                $1.14/1000 (increase 5 cents/1000) 

Highway 

            Total Appropriations                 $2,116,965

            Tax Rate                                $2.81/1000  (up 10.6% from $2.54 in 2004)           

General 

            Total Appropriations                 $5,384,217

            Tax Rate                                $2.67/1000  (same as 2004)   

Preliminary Budget Workshops are scheduled for October 20th – 22nd, 2004.   I am planning to schedule the Public Hearing for the Budget and Fire Contract for Monday, November 1, 2004.
