Board presented a proclamation to members of the 82nd Airborne
Division proclaiming August 16, 2004 as National Airborne Day.

opportunity for residents to comment on any matter regarding the meeting agenda
items only. Joe Synakowski thanked
the Town Board for recognition of the 82nd Airborne Division and
thanked the Town for keeping up DeGlopper Park.

$300 Grant from Erie Co. Legislature for the Grand Island Citizen Corp Council
The
Town of Grand Island accepted $300 from Erie County Legislator Charles Swanick,
10th District, for the Grand Island Citizen Corps Council to produce
a coloring book for children making them ready in case of any emergency.

Power Project Relicensing Memorandum of Understanding
A
motion was made by Councilwoman Cooke, seconded by Councilman Robillard to
authorize the Supervisor to sign the Niagara Power Project Relicensing
Memorandum of Understanding, subject to approval of the Town Attorney. The Town
Board is designated to set up a sub committee of its advisory boards to look at
the proposal on the negotiations preparation for Relicensing Project.

Robillard reported that he had opened the bids on August 11, 2004 for the
Biometric Handreaders - Payroll Computer Hardware & Software. One bid was

After
careful review of the bids, Councilman Robillard recommended the sole bidder be
awarded the contract in the amount of $19,259.
They met all the specifications required.

In
discussion, out of the 14 members, it was clarified that the Town Board liaison
will not be a voting member, nor would the Superintendent of Schools. In the
past, the Chairman would abstain unless breaking a tie. This is strictly an
advisory board to the Town and Schools to help eliminate duplication of
services.
