meeting of the Town Board of Grand Island, New York was held at the Town Hall,
2255 Baseline Rd., Grand Island, NY at 6:30 p.m. on the 4th of
October 2004.

McMahon called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
General Discussion:
Community Development Block Grant Public Hearing tonight.
NEW ITEMS:
General Discussion:
Grant Opportunities Capital Project Grant from
Sam Hoyt Several projects were discussed: New lavatory,
shelter, power and fence for Veterans Park; emergency generator for the Town
Hall.
Comprehensive Plan Update and Loop Road Costs are projected at $1,000,000 per mile to
develop the Loop Road. Its needs
are to be addressed with the Comprehensive Plan Update.
Vacancies for Long-Range Planning Committee will be on the next meeting
agenda to advertise.
Zoning Corrections
A Public Hearing needed to make corrections to Zoning Code or Map will be
done before the end of the year, and quarterly in the future.
Property Complaints A
complaint about a house on Queens has been received, it will be added to the
list being addressed by the CEO and Town Attorney
Budget 2005 The
budget workshops begin on October 20th.
Meeting with Recreation Advisory Board October 12th at 7:00p.m.
SEQR Meeting
October 13th at 8:45a.m.

General Discussion:
Veterans Park
Item will be removed from agenda. The
possessive apostrophe will not be added to the name Veterans Park.
Local Law Water Meter Tampering The Town Attorney will draft an ordinance for
review at the next workshop meeting.
Avoidable Alarms The
Town Attorney will draft an amendment to the current local law that will update
the ordinance, enforcement procedures and schedule of fines.
Sign Committee No
report
Plumbing Ordinances The
Town Attorney will re-circulate a proposed draft of Plumbing Ordinances
recognizing licenses issued by other towns and cities.
It will also allow homeowners to work on their own residences with out a
license and make corrections to the general enforcement issues.
Town Code - The
Town Codebook will be reviewed in the first quarter of 2005 to make changes,
updates and corrections. A decision
will be made about whether to purchase the Codebook on CD format and convert it
to a loose-leaf format or to continue to update it by purchasing sections at a
time.
