Grand Islanders charged in credit card theft

Two Grand Island residents were arrested on multiple charges following the theft of a credit card, Erie County sheriff's deputies said today.

An investigation began several days ago, after the card was stolen from a Grand Island resident, authorities said. Tuesday night, two 18-year-old suspects were arrested.

The suspects, whose names were withheld by deputies, each were charged with one felony count of grand larceny and multiple counts of identity theft. They were sent to the county holding center pending arraignment.

Deputies continue to investigate where the stolen credit card had been used; additional charges are likely, authorities said.
