Erie County sheriff’s deputies have arrested a Grand Island woman on charges of driving while intoxicated after she hit her husband with his own car at about 7:45 p. m. Tuesday.
Deputies also charged Ann Wakefield, 39, of Staley Road, with criminal mischief in the damage to the car.
Deputies Daniel Milbrandt and Michael Haug said Wakefield, who had been involved in domestic dispute with her husband, Salvatore, before he was hit, initially drove off, but returned while they were taking information from him.
Deputies said she failed several roadside sobriety tests, and a chemical test revealed a blood-alcohol content of 0.19 percent, deputies said. Wakefield was taken to the Erie County Holding Center after her arraignment.
