Erie County sheriff’s deputies charged a Grand Island man with aggravated driving while intoxicated after he registered a 0.18 percent blood-alcohol content, more than twice the legal limit, late Wednesday.
Steven E. Halliwell, 21, of Bedell Road, was stopped on Grand Island Boulevard when he tried to elude deputies by driving through parking lots with his lights off.
Deputy Michael Haug, who stopped Halliwell at about 11:50 p. m., also charged him with unlawfully fleeing a police officer and resisting arrest.
