Erie County sheriff’s deputies are trying to find the person who robbed the Noco convenience store on Grand Island early Monday.
A clerk at the store told deputies that a man came into the store about 2:20 a. m., showed her what looked like a gun, and ordered her to give him the money in the cash register. Then he took off on foot with the money.
The suspect is described as a white male in his late 30s, wearing a green or teal shirt over a dark hoodie, with a dark bandanna over his face.
Deputy Bradley Girdler discovered the robbery when, on routine patrol, he noticed there didn’t seem to be an employee visible in the store at 1898 Whitehaven Road. He noticed the cash register was open, and there was no money in it. After searching the store, Girdler found the clerk, who had locked herself in a storeroom.
