A Lewiston man charged with grand larceny was caught Sunday stealing a purse with bank cards from a shopping cart at the Tops Market on Grand Island, Erie County sheriff’s deputies said.
Ryan Panepinto, 27, of Dickersonville Road was restrained by a customer until Deputy John Davis arrived at the Grand Island Boulevard store and placed him under arrest. The crime occurred at about 12:45 p. m., Panepinto said.
Deputies added that he is in the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment.
