River contamination is meeting topic

The future of contamination in the Niagara River will be the topic of discussion
during a public meeting later this month on Grand Island.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and other government agencies from
both sides of the border are hosting the discussion from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 24
in the Holiday Inn Grand Island Resort and Conference Center, 100 Whitehaven
Road.

A public forum on the water quality on Grand Island and in the Town of Tonawanda is being held Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at 7 p.m. at the Noco Pavilion, 450 Ensmnger Road, Town of Tonawanda.
Sponsored by the Erie County Environmental Management Council and Western New York Stormwater Coalition, the forum will target local watersheds and address water quality in neighborhood creeks and rivers. Storm water discharge issues also will be discussed.
