VFW Chiavetta's Chicken BBQ - October 2020


    Charles N. DeGlopper Memorial VFW Post 9249 is hosting a Chiavetta's Chicken BBQ on Wednesday, October 14th at 4:00 p.m. Dinner is $10.00 and includes half chicken, coleslaw, potato salad, roll & butter. No walk ups allowed. The post is located at 2121 Grand Island Blvd. and will be closed after 3:00 p.m. on bbq dates.




VFW Stars & Stripes Fundraiser - September 2020


    Charles N. DeGlopper Memorial VFW Post 9249 is having a Stars & Stripes Fundraiser. Order a US 3x5 nylon with embroidered stars for $25.00 or a US 4x6 nylon with embroidered stars for $40.00. Deadline for orders is November 1, 2020. Flag pick-up by November 11th. See order form.




VFW Fundraising Clothing Drive - August 2020

   The VFW is having a fundraising clothing drive soon. Start going through your closets and let the clothes you no longer wear make money for the VFW Post. Items that can be donated include: Gentle used washed clothing/ mens, womens, and children, Shoes/Purses /Belts, Bedding/Blankets, Towels. Please put donations in clean plastic trash bags. Items can be dropped off at the Post’s back porch, 2121 Grand Island Blvd., August 24 - September 14th, Monday - Sunday between 11:00 - 8:00. See flyer.


VFW Post 9249 Hosts Burger Burn - July 2020

    The current pandemic prevents us from having our traditional 4th of July celebration, but the Grand Island VFW is having a burger burn Saturday July 4th, from 11am - 2pm. Please stop in and see us. $6 gets patrons a burger or hotdog, chips and soda. 50/50 tickets will be available for purchase. Sales will be drive up style, and 50/50 drawing will be posted on live video on our facebook page. Please come down and visit us and as always, thank you for your continued support to Veterans.


VFW Post 9249 Re-Opens June 29th - June 2020

    VFW Charles N. DeGlopper Post 9249 is re-opening on Monday, June 29, 2020. Everyone is required to sign in and wear masks when not at a table or bar. See flyer.


VFW Post 9249 Military Honors at Cemeteries - May 2020

    The VFW will be offering military honors at the Grand Island cemeteries Memorial Day morning, Monday, May 25th. Family and friends are welcome to attend while practicing social distance guidelines. Times are as follows: 7:40 a.m. Whitehaven Rd; 7:55 a.m. Maplegrove; 8:15 a.m. Staley Rd; 8:30 a.m. Assumption; 8:45 a.m. Trinity; 8:55 a.m. St. Stephens.

    Charles N. DeGlopper Memorial VFW Post 9249 is hosting their 17th annual Corned Beef & Cabbage Dinner on Saturday, March 14th from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Dinner includes Corned Beef, cabbage, potatoes, carrots and dessert. Tickets are $11.00 Public is welcome to attend. See flyer.

    The VFW Post 9249, 2121 Grand Island Blvd. is now serving lunch Monday - Friday, 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend! March 2-6 Menu


VFW Auxiliary Pork Roast Dinner - February 2020

    The VFW Auxiliary is hosting a Pork Roast dinner on Saturday, February 15th, at the Post, 2121 Grand Island Blvd. Dinner includes roast pork and stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, sauerkraut and applesauce. Early bird special $9.00, regular $10.00 and take-out $10.50. See flyer for details.


VFW Auxiliary Annual Soup Night - January 2020

    The VFW Auxiliary Annual Soup Night is on Saturday, January 18th from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. There will be many soups to choose from. Tickets are $8.00 and include all you can eat soup, salad and bread. Dessert will be available to purchase. Take-out soup will be available after 6:00 p.m. for $7.00 per quart. Flyer.
