W.O.W. Press Release 2024-25 - September 2024
With the 2024-25 season, Women of the Word begin another year of Christian Bible study on Grand Island. Hosted byTrinity Church, 2100 Whitehaven Road, the ladies of W.O.W. will examine the New Testament books of Romans and James as well as selections from the Old Testament book of Psalms. The Premier Celebration is Thursday, Sept. 12th, beginning at 9:15 am. W.O.W. invites ladies of all ages to join them for Bible lessons, teaching, prayer, worship and fellowship each Thursday morning from September to May. The format includes a study guide to be completed each week, with sharing of answers and insights during small group time. This is followed by worship songs and a lecture on the day’s featured Scriptures.The ministry of Women of the Word began in California and was brought to Grand Island in the late 1980s by the late Barbie Bird who served as its director for several years. Other W.O.W. groups flourish throughout the United States and internationally, all having the goal of increasing Bible literacy and of fostering personal relationships with Jesus Christ. No prior Bible study experience is necessary. Women from all walks of life and faith affiliations are encouraged to attend. There is a fee of $50 for the lesson books. With the 2023-24 season, Women of the Word begin their 35th year of Christian Bible study on Grand Island. Hosted by Trinity Church, 2100 Whitehaven Road, the ladies of W.O.W. will examine the New Testament Gospel of Matthew. The Premier Celebration is Thursday, Sept. 14th, beginning at 9:30 am.W.O.W. invites ladies of all ages to join them for Bible lessons, teaching, prayer, worship and fellowship each Thursday morning from September to May. The format includes a study guide to be completed each week, with sharing of answers and insights during small group time.
