Annual Antique Boat Show & Race Boat Reunion - 2005
The 28th
Annual "Niagara Frontier Antique & Classic Boat Show" & Race Boat Reunion - "Shuffle Off To Buffalo" is being held Saturday, September 10, 2005 on the grounds of the Buffalo Launch Club on the mighty Niagara River. Show hours are from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The BLC, oldest motor boat club in the United States, is located at 503 East River Road, Grand Island, New York.
According to Sharon L. Dickinson, president of the Niagara Frontier Chapter, the theme of the 2005 show is "Built In Buffalo." The show will highlight many boats, motors and other products that were either manufactured or built in the Buffalo area and are reserving the "big tent" to serve as a museum for displays of Buffalo memorabilia.
The beautiful grounds, clubhouse, enclosed basin and excellent docks at the BLC are yours to enjoy! The hospitality of the Niagara Frontier chapter of the ACBS and the Buffalo Launch Club can't be beat!
Over 160 cruisers, runabouts, race boats, skiffs, sailboats, canoes, outboards and even motors are on display in water and on land. This is an ACBS judged show with great awards.

28th Antique & Classic Boat Show & Race Boat Reunion At Buffalo Launch Club - 2005
The 28th annual "Niagara Frontier Antique & Classic Boat Show" and Raceboat Reunion will be staged at the Buffalo Launch Club, 503 East River Road, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2005. The event is held every September on the mighty Niagara River off the BLC, the oldest motor boat club in the United States. The show is admission free, however there will be a fee for parking.

This year the Club will feature and highlight the “story of the boat builders and marine engine manufacturers of the Western New York region.”
Buffalo Launch Club Commodore’s Ball To Honor George R. Schlemmer - 2005
The Buffalo Launch Club's annual Commodore’s Ball honoring Commodore George R. Schlemmer, is being held Saturday, May 21, 2005 in the Clubhouse. This black tie event promises to be a very memorable evening thanks to the planning committee chaired by Dr. Carlos and Dina Santos. The menu will consist of many delicacies prepared by Chef Daniel J. Hall and entertainment will be provided by The Sid Winkler Band. Commodore Schlemmer, a boating enthusiast for most of his life, has served five years on the Board of Directors of the Buffalo Launch Club.

Buffalo Launch Club members, their families and guests had a beautiful day for the Club's annual flag raising on Sunday, May 15, 2005 when the Harry Simpson Scholarship awards were presented to Adam Mazenauer and Robert Goris. The presentation was made by Past Commodore Robert S. Black.
Adam, a 2002 graduate of Grand Island High School, is a science major at the University at Buffalo. Robert will graduate from Grand Island High School in June and will attend the State University at Buffalo where he will study pharmacy. The scholarships, established in 1990, are given in memory of Harry Simpson, who served as the Buffalo Launch Club's manager for 42 years.
15th Annual Boater's Seminar & Luncheon - 2005
The Buffalo Launch Club's annual Boating Seminar and Luncheon is scheduled for April 23, 2005 and will be chaired by Don Leslie. A new feature this year will be a Boaters' Flea Market planned by the BLC membership committee and to be open following the seminar. Complete details as they become available.
15th Annual Boater's Seminar & Luncheon - 2005
The Buffalo Launch Club's 15th annual Boating Seminar and Luncheon is scheduled for April 23, 2005 and will be chaired by Don Leslie. A new feature this year will be a Boaters' Flea Market planned by the BLC membership committee and to be open following lunch.
Presentations will be made by Raymarine on Marine Electronics, Local Law Enforcement Officers, and a speaker to be announced. Local law enforcement will include U.S. Customs & Border Protection, U.S. Coast Guard, Station Buffalo and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. followed by the program from 10 a.m. to noon. Lunch will be served from noon to 1 p.m.
Cost of the Seminar and Luncheon is $11 including tax and gratuity. The Seminar, which will feature many door prizes, is open to the public. Call the Buffalo Launch Club, 773-7629, reservations and further information.

Members of the Buffalo Launch Club installed officers for 2005 on Sunday, December 19, 2004 in the clubhouse at 503 East River Road, Grand Island, NY. Heading the BLC this year is Commodore George Schlemmer. Island residents serving as officers or on the Board of Directors are John Bruno, James P. Burke, Robert DeGlopper, Frank P. DeGeorge and Douglas M. Scheid.

Buffalo Launch Club Celebrates New Year's Eve - 2004

The Buffalo Launch Club held its annual New Year's Eve celebration on Friday evening, December 31, 2004. The event, attended by 185 members and guests, was hosted by Buffalo Launch Club Secretary Bill Curry and his wife, Ann. Dinner featured an exquisite gourmet menu including lobster tail, fillet mignon, an assortment of fresh seafood and prime rib prepared under the direction of Head Chef Scott Danhauser and Manager Jim Henzler.
Entertainment was provided by the local band, Live Wire, who kept the attendees rocking into the New Year.
The Buffalo Launch Club, oldest power boat club in North America, continues to promote nautical and social interest of its members by hosing more than 48 social and nautical events each year.
