"He sniffs, looks all around and finally licks out the bird feeder. Guess I have to trudge out and fill it again!"

"Hummingbird Clearwing Sphinx Moth" - August 2008

   Nathan captured this photo of a hummingbird clearwing sphinx moth, taken with a high speed flash "in order to get his wings still in the shot. Without a flash the wings are just a blur of motion." Nathan said there are several of them working on the flowers of the butterfly bush in his back yard on Harvey Road. This photo was taken on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 6, 2008.
