Library Closed Memorial Day - 2007
The Grand Island Memorial Library will be closed for the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, May 28, 2007. For the remainder of the week, the Library will be open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Thursday from 1-9 p.m. The Library is closed on Friday and Sunday.

Library Hosts Pop-Up Book Program - April 2007

A special program, funded by the Friends of the Grand Island Memorial Library, was presented at the Library on Saturday, April 21, 2007 in celebration of National Library Week. Mike Kelly from the Explore and More Museum in East Aurora taught a well attended class of Island children how to make pop-up books.

Spring 2007 Toddler Time Lap-Sit
The Grand Island Memorial Library's Spring Session of the Toddler Time Lap-Sit program, featuring stories, finger plays and songs for children ages 18 months to 3 years, will be held on Wednesday mornings from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. beginning May 9, 2007. Each child must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Children must be 18 months old by May 9, 2007. Registration begins Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at 9 a.m. Call the library at 773-7124 or come in and sign up.

Preschool Story Hour - Spring Session - 2007
The spring session of Preschool Story Hour will be held at the Grand Island Memorial Library on Monday and Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. beginning April 30, 2007. Weekly programs of stories, songs, crafts and games are open to children 3 to 5 years old. Children must be 3 years of age before April 30, 2007. Registration begins 9 a.m. Tuessday, April 30 at the library or by calling 773-7124. Please specify which day you prefer.

National Library Week At GI Mem. Library - 2007
   Celebrate National Library Week at the Grand Island Memorial Library. Explore & More will present Pop-up Books for children in kindergarten through Grade 5 at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2007. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Registration begins Monday, April 2 at 9 a.m. For more information or to register, call 773-7124 or sign up at the library. The program is funded by the Friends of the Grand Island Memorial Library.

Cat In The Hat Visits Memorial Library For 50th Birthday Party - March 2007

   The Grand Island Memorial Library was the scene of a birthday party for the children's book, The Cat In the Hat by Dr. Seuss on Saturday, March 3, 2007. The party, geared to kindergarten through 5th grade students, was well attended. Guests enjoyed crafts, birthday cake and the visit from the Cat In the Hat, who read the story and passed out colorful balloons.

Easter Egg Decorating Program At Library - 2007
An Easter Egg Decorating Program will take place at the Grand Island Memorial Library from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2007. The program is for children in kindergarten through the fifth grade. Registration begins Wednesday, March 14 at 9 a.m. To register or for more information, call 773-7124 or sign up at the library.
Participants should bring 4 to 5 hard boiled eggs for decorating.

Library Celebrates 50 Years Of Cat In The Hat - 2007
There will be a special program for children in kindergarten through 5th grade at the Grand Island Memorial Library at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2007. To celebrate fifty years of The Cat In the Hat there will be crafts, birthday cake and a special reading of The Cat In the Hat himself. Registration begins Thursday, February 15th. To register or for more information, call 773-7124, or sign up at the library. Funding for this program is provided by the Friends of the Grand Island Memorial Library.

The Grand Island Memorial Library will be closed Monday, February 19, 2007 due to the President's Day holiday.
For the remainder of the week the library is open:
Tuesday - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Wednesday - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Thursday - 1-9 p.m.
Saturday - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The library is closed Friday and Sundays

Winter 2007 Toddler Time Lap-Sit

The Grand Island Memorial Library will be closed on Monday, January 15, 2007 due to the Martin Luther King holiday.
For the reminder of the week the library is open:
Tuesday - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Wednesday - 10 am. to 5 p.m.
Thursday - 1-9 pm.
Saturday - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The library is closed on Fridays and Sundays.
